OLD MANAGERS

Both André and Firmin are present at the auction. But director Hal Prince's take on the auction scene is that we're maybe just seeing ghosts of the past, and we see them through the eyes of old Raoul. So it might not be the managers as such we see, rather a memory of another time.

Firmin wears a cloaked coat, with a big scarf draped over the shoulders. He also wears a bowler hat. Underneath, hidden, is the suit he wears as the young(er) Firmin, so he's ready for the Hannibal rehearsal scene. In many productions he also wears a grey beard. The same applies for old André.
