The chief repetitor of the opera. He wears a slighty artistic outfit, with a colourful cravatte, a velvet jacket with "puffed" sleeves, a brocaded waistcoat and stripy trousers (although many productions sport non-stripy trousers). The costume design shows him with a pochette in the pocket of the jacket, and a monocle at his right eye, and he also wears a bowler hat, a white shirt and black shoes. In some productions the cravatte is replaced by a bowtie.
